BoC Fintech Hackathon: More than 100 participants shape Cyprus' digital future
More than 100 developers, founders and students participated in the sixth Bank of Cyprus (BoC) Fintech Hackathon, which took place from 10 to 12 October 2025 at the IDEA Innovation Centre in Nicosia. Under the motto "Fintech Everywhere", 31 teams developed new digital solutions for business and society in just 48 hours.
Accompanied by more than 30 mentors from banks, universities and technology companies, projects were created around artificial intelligence, sustainable finance and smart cities. Particularly striking: Student teams were also represented – a sign of the growing culture of innovation in Cyprus.
First place and 7,000 euros in prize money was won by Labs(dot)cy with an AI platform for market analysis. Symmorphic took second place with a digital property management solution, while Interns United and TestoBugs shared third place.
The Bank of Cyprus emphasized that the hackathon is an important driver for the Cypriot innovation ecosystem and that fintech has long gone beyond traditional banking.
