Construction work is progressing rapidly, with completion scheduled for 2026. President Nikos Christodoulides ceremoniously opened the first section in 2024. Although the promenade is not yet fully completed, it has already become a popular meeting place – hundreds of people use the new coastal path every day to walk, jog or simply enjoy nature and the sea view.
According to Marinos Lambrou, mayor of the municipality of Akamas, the Peyia promenade is an urban development project with a total budget of around 2.5 million euros.
The first phase of construction covers two kilometres and is part of the overall route that runs from the marina in Potima to the port of Agios Georgios in Peyia.
In this first phase, an amphitheatre, an outdoor fitness area, a basketball court, a kiosk and a playground have already been built.
"This project is of great importance for the upgrading of our municipality," Lambrou emphasized. "We expect full completion within the next twelve months."

With its unique location between the sea and nature, the Peyia-Kissonerga coastal promenade already promises to become one of the new flagships of Cypriot tourism – a place where exercise, relaxation and scenic beauty merge harmoniously.
