In the Nicosia region, there were outages in Farmakas, Geri, Kakopetria and parts of Pera, Chorio, Nisou and Pera, among others.

Several places in Limassol were also affected, including Erimi, Germasogeia, Kantou, Prodromos and Souni.

In Larnaca County, disturbances were reported from Odou, Ormideia, Perivolia and Xylotymbou.

Paphos experienced problems in Giolou, Miliou and Theletra, and a planned power outage was also scheduled in Latchi.

In the Famagusta region, Acheritou, Dasaki Achna and Vrysoulles reported interruptions in the power supply.

The storm was related to a low-pressure system over the Black Sea, which brought strong winds, heavy rainfall and isolated thunderstorms to Cyprus. In exposed locations, the gusts reached wind forces of 9 to 10 on the Beaufort scale, while values of 6 to 7 were measured along the coasts.

The sea was correspondingly rough, and snow fell in the higher mountain regions.

Despite the difficult weather conditions, the district administrations did not report any major incidents apart from the power outages.

In addition to the damage, the storm also had positive effects: the precipitation led to noticeable inflows into the reservoirs.

At the Asprokremmos Dam, inflows of almost 10 million cubic meters were recorded, which increased the filling level by more than 18 percent. The Kannaviou and Evretou dams also registered inflows, albeit to a lesser extent.

Officials said the recent rains had significantly improved the water supply. With careful resource management, they could help to avoid summer water shortages and possible rationing.
