Cyprus records an increase in German and Polish tourism bookings for 2025
The Cyprus Hoteliers Association (Pasyxe) expressed optimism about the upcoming tourism season, particularly due to increased bookings from Germany and Poland .
Preliminary data from the association indicate a 9 percent increase in early bookings from these markets compared to the same period last year.
During the prestigious ITB Berlin travel trade fair , which took place from 4 to 6 March 2025, Pasyxe President Thanos Michaelides and Director General Christos Angelides held a series of meetings with travel agencies and tourism industry players operating in the Cypriot market.
According to a statement from Pasyxe, representatives from Germany, Poland, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and other important tourism markets took part in these talks.
The main message Pasyxe conveyed to its industry partners was “the need to increase both flight capacity and organized tour packages to Cyprus in order to increase the flow of tourists to the island.”
“Despite the encouraging early booking figures, the association remains cautious due to external factors, particularly geopolitical developments , that could potentially impact tourism,” the association said.
Furthermore, Michaelides emphasized the importance of Cyprus' presence at ITB Berlin, stressing that established partnerships with key markets play a crucial role in promoting the country's tourism sector.
“ The messages we have received for 2025 are positive ,” he said.
“Our goal is to continue with the same commitment so that these encouraging signs can be translated into actual tourist arrivals and ultimately into hotel overnight stays ,” he added.
In conclusion, Pasyxe said that they are “committed to further increasing the number of German visitors and welcome the strong participation of the Cypriot tourism industry in this important international event.”
