Trump administration calls for firewall to fall in Germany
US Vice President JD Vance will apparently call for an end to the firewall in his speech at the Munich Security Conference! He announced this in a recent interview.
The annual Security Conference (MSC) begins in Munich this Friday. One of the main topics will be the upcoming negotiations on the Ukraine war between Russia and America. US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that Russian, Ukrainian and American representatives will meet at the conference.
But it will also be about Germany! Trump's vice president JD Vance gave an interview in the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) ahead of the conference. In it, he announced that in his speech at the security conference he would call on Germany to give up its firewall against the AfD. Vance in the WSJ: "It's really about censorship and about migration, about this fear that President Trump and I have, that European leaders are afraid of their own people." The WSJ writes: "He said he would call on German politicians to work with all parties, including the far-right and anti-immigration party 'Alternative for Germany'."
According to US Vice President JD Vance, the main crisis facing both Europe and the US is a "self-made crisis". They need to respond more to the voices of the voters, he said. He called on European governments to show more acceptance of opposition voices. "You cannot win a democratic mandate by censoring your opponents or putting them in jail," said Donald Trump's vice president.
US Vice President JD Vance first spoke about yesterday's attack at a demonstration by the Verdi trade union in Munich. Their "thoughts and prayers" are with those affected. They are "moved," said Donald Trump's vice president. "We are thinking of you, we are praying for you," he said.
He receives applause for his opening words and jokes - apparently with a view to the difficult topics he will address: "I hope this is not the last applause I will receive."
