Tragedy in Limassol: Boy falls to his death from 140-meter-high skyscraper
Tragic fall in Limassol: Investigations into the death of a 14-year-old underway
On Thursday, authorities continued their investigation into the death of a boy who allegedly died after falling from a skyscraper in Limassol.
According to police, the 14-year-old was found on the ground between two high-rise buildings on the Limassol coast. Despite immediate rescue attempts, his life could not be saved.
According to initial findings, he likely fell from an apartment on the 34th floor, from a height of approximately 140 meters. The apartment was unfinished, and some of his personal belongings were discovered there.
The boy lived with his parents, both of Russian Cypriot origin, on the 21st floor of the building. His father was reportedly abroad at the time of the incident.
The police were informed of the discovery of the body shortly before 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has taken over the investigation and is investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
The police are currently trying to clarify whether the 14-year-old was alone in the apartment before the fall.
The crime scene remains cordoned off while video footage and other evidence are secured.
