Cyprus offers dancing of a different kind

Parties will soon be the focus not only for a certain group of the population: families and anyone who is afraid of having to get up for work the next morning will soon be able to celebrate again.

Carnival season is upon us and the events calendar is filling up as revelers across the island prepare for one of the most hedonistic times of the year.

While local communities have already started making announcements for the festive month of February, all kinds of events are taking place throughout Cyprus, especially in Limassol, the centre of the island's carnival celebrations.

But these events aren't just aimed at a specific audience. Rave Baby Rave is a new event that opens its doors to lovers of family celebrations. Little kids shouldn't stop you from having fun!

Baby Rave Baby creator Eve Thompson is a mother who moved from Las Vegas to Cyprus three years ago.

“When I came here, I noticed that there were not many activities involving parents and their children, so I came up with the idea of creating one,” she told the Cyprus Mail .

Influenced by a baby rave she attended in the USA, she brought the idea to Cyprus.

Rave Baby Rave introduces children to techno, house and bass and expands the playlist with nostalgic songs that parents can also enjoy.

“As I travel a lot and have been to all kinds of festivals, raves and events, I saw similar ideas in the UK, the US, Australia and Berlin and I wanted to bring this wonderful idea to Cyprus,” said Eve.

The one in Berlin is more precisely called “Kinder Rave”, an event that includes all age groups from toddlers onwards and allows children to celebrate with their parents in a family-friendly atmosphere.

“This is a great opportunity to celebrate our children while also instilling a love of music and getting to know them in more creative ways,” added Eve.

Baby Rave Baby not only offers parents the opportunity to celebrate with their children, but also to learn the art of DJing in workshops held once a month.

Children can learn new things by participating in the event, learn how to compose and produce music in the monthly workshops and perform their music for their parents.

Baby Rave Baby encourages local artists to perform their songs at the rave.
The events and workshops take place in Limassol, but Eve would like to expand Baby Rave Baby to other cities on the island.

So far two events have been organized and there will be a third rave on February 22nd to celebrate Carnival.

The rave party includes a teen zone for the older kids, a toddler zone, a gamer zone, food trucks, a craft zone where the kids can get creative, a quiet zone for sensory sensitive kids, and a costume and dance contest.

But the Baby Rave is not the only upcoming event bringing dancing and clubbing to a wider audience. Another major event will take place in Cyprus this year, aimed at working adults "because they have something to do tomorrow."

Bed by Ten gives people the opportunity to party without having to worry about going to bed too late or how they're going to get up in the morning.

Bed by Ten has toured all over the world, from Australia to the USA and finally to Europe where it will open in Limassol.

Aimed at working professionals who are worried about having to get to work early the next day, it gives them the opportunity to enjoy old hits while dancing the night away without a care in the world.
